LIFE at MiraCosta College Lectures
The LIFE Lectures at MiraCosta College lifelong learning group is hosting two speakers at the college’s Oceanside campus, 1 Barnard Drive, Admin. Bldg. #1000.
1pm: Ranjetea Basu, faculty member at CSUSM, will discuss how studies have shown us that higher income does not always lead to greater happiness. He will explore the reasons for this finding from the fields of economics and psychology.
2:30pm: Dhyana Adkins, faculty member at MiraCosta College, and MCC students present a performance of a portion of the infamous radio show, War of Worlds, that Orson Welles broadcast in 1938 on the night before Halloween. It was broadcast as a series of simulated news bulletins which suggested that an actual alien invasion by Martians was underway.
