La Mesa Downtown Village: Opening Celebration
La Mesa Downtown Village, along La Mesa Boulevard

La Mesa Boulevard in the Downtown Village has been undergoing a $5 million renovation of the streetscape since July 2014. The updated shopping district features new sidewalks, trees, street furniture, pedestrian-friendly crosswalks, and lighting including decorative string lights at the gateways and major intersections.
La Mesa Shimmer will feature a lighting ceremony at 4:30 pm at La Mesa Boulevard and Palm Avenue. The La Mesa City Council will turn on the string lights for the first time. Live music and refreshments until 6 pm along the boulevard. Free tickets to holiday events will be given away. Info: 619-667-1333.
