Urban Craft Camp: Intermediate Calligraphy
Have you tried your hand at calligraphy and love it? Comfortable with a calligraphy pen and ink? If you've been enjoying honing your craft at home, we'd love to help take your design skills to the next level! Join us for our Intermediate Calligraphy Workshop to further develop your calligraphy knowledge and skills.
This class will be a continuation and building on of concepts taught in Introduction to Calligraphy. We'll do in-depth exploration of different inks, nibs, and their uses on different media. Broad-point fonts as well as other pointed pen fonts will be utilized. We'll focus on Classic Roman and Copperplate while helping you develop your own style.
We'll pay special attention to addressing envelopes. Also, bring your favorite quote to class and we'll work on layout, design, and using your own unique style.
We are thrilled to be partnering with The Library Shop to host this workshop. The Library Shop is a carefully curated one-stop shop for books, jewelry, children’s merchandise, gifts, and art located inside the new San Diego Central Library.
Talented professional calligrapher and illustrator Wendy Ware will be leading our workshop. With over 16 years experience, Wendy has worked with some of Southern California's top event planners, stationery retailers, and corporations to create invitations, logos, and event design. Wendy hand calligraphies over 40 different fonts.
