Stone Soup
Pacific Children’s Theater’s original musical by Graham Russo and Korrie Paliotto.
Stone Soup is a folk story that has been told for hundreds of years all over the world -- a tale about compassion and cooperation amid scarcity and fear.
Lost travelers stumble upon a village, carrying only an empty cooking pot. The elders of the village are fearful of the travelers and are unwilling to share their food. Starving, the travelers have no choice but to make stone soup for their survival.
One of the younger villagers observes what the travelers are doing and becomes curious. The travelers explain that they are making stone soup and how they wished they had a little seasoning or garnish to improve its flavor.
The young villager takes pity and gives the travelers a few carrots. This one act of sharing creates trust and before you know it everyone from the village is pitching in, because they discover how great giving is!
