Secret Life of Native Plants
8833 Harmony Grove Road, Escondido, 92029
Cost: Free
Native plants are recommended for their drought tolerance, but that is only one reason for planting them. Entire ecosystems are dependent upon our native plants, which are being destroyed by introduced weeds. At this talk you’ll discover how native plants communicate and about the hundreds of pollinators that depend upon them.
Diane and Miranda Kennedy run Finch Frolic Garden in Fallbrook, a permaculture-based food forest habitat. A former San Diego County Senior Park Ranger, middle-school librarian, freelance writer, and tour guide at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Diane consults, lectures, and leads tours through her garden-teaching.
