Machu Picchu: The Inca Trail Hike
Join adventure tour guide Al Macdonald for a highlighted overview of the Inca Trail hike and why now is the time to go.
The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is an amazing pilgrimage through the Andes mountains that dates back hundreds of years. No wonder it’s popular. In 2005 the Peruvian government started imposing regulations and limiting the number of trekkers allowed to hike the ancient trail. Today, permits sell out months in advance and attendance at Machu Picchu itself has skyrocketed. Government and park officials (loosely) limit attendance at Machu Picchu to 2,500 per day and are now looking at further limiting entrance.
Since 2006, Al has trekked, sailed, explored, and guided travelers throughout the world. The content of his presentations are the culmination of years of experience and a sincere desire to share the beauty of the lands that sparked his wanderlust.
