This spring, come see Pacific Children’s Theater’s Sarah, Plain and Tall.
Set in Kansas during the early 1900’s, the children’s novel turned play, Sarah, Plain and Tall is a heart-warming tale about the Witting family history.
Jacob Witting, a farmer, unexpectedly loses his wife during childbirth. Exhausted and sadden from tending the farm alone and caring for his two children, Anna and Caleb; Jacob places an ad in the paper for a mail order bride.
Sarah Wheaton from Maine responds and journeys out for a month to meet the family and see if she can fill the role of wife and mother to the Wittings. During this time, they learn a lot about each other, as well as, the triumphs and tragedies that make up life.
