Nathan East & Cecil Lytle scholarship benefit
Grammy-nominated bass guitarist Nathan East, known for his collaborations with legends like Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, Madonna, and Michael Jackson, will return to his alma mater to perform. A native of San Diego, East began his music career as a teenager when he was hired by Barry White for a national tour. For more than 35 years he has performed with rock and jazz icons.
East will perform with former UC San Diego professor Cecil Lytle. All proceeds from the concert will support the endowed Lytle Scholarship Fund, which benefits UC San Diego students who graduated from The Preuss School UCSD, a charter middle and high school on the campus of UC San Diego for low income, highly motivated students who strive to become the first in their families to graduate from college.
