Iris Home Holiday Tour
On Sunday, December 15, from noon until 4 p.m., the Iris Auxiliary to San Diego Center for Children will present a tour of five homes in Kensington, each decorated by professional interior designers.
San Diego Center for Children is the oldest children’s non-profit organization in San Diego, a cornerstone agency helping children since 1887. With over 1,000 children and teens served each year, the Center provides intensive behavioral health and educational programs in six locations throughout the County. Services include assessment, outpatient counselling, special education, a foster care agency and outpatient therapy, as well as residential treatment.
The Iris Auxiliary has been supporting the Center for Children for 34 years, funding much-needed areas that support a child’s overall wellness: sports equipment, musical instruments for the music therapy program, community outings, Camp Able, recreational therapy, holiday parties, and much more. In addition, they have purchased two vans over the years for transporting the children, and a beautiful playground which has proved to be very popular.
All profits from the home tour will be donated to the Center. The generous interior designers who are donating their time and décor: David Urban, French Garden Shoppe, Jackie Dampier Design, Kristin Lomauro Interior Design, and Leanne Michael Luxe Lifestyle.
This is the third holiday home tour ever presented in Kensington, and a marvelous opportunity to see some of the neighborhood’s unique older homes that showcase elegant, architectural features in their original settings. Tickets are $20 in advance online or $25 beginning at noon, day of event at the intersection of Bedford Drive and Edgeware Road.
