The Jujube Fruit
One Barnard Drive, Oceanside, 92056
Cost: Free
The California Rare Fruit Growers presents evening with Roger Meyer: farmer, retired chemist, author, speaker, and jujube fruit expert. Roger has been growing jujube fruit for nearly 40 years and co-authored Jujube Primer & Source Book.
Jujube fruit tastes similar to an apple, is drought-tolerant, grows great in San Diego County, and doesn’t get attacked by insects. It has been cultivated for thousands of years throughout Asia.
Roger Meyer will share the basics of growing jujubes, care required, and when to harvest. In Student Center room 3450.
