ASP Supergirl Pro Surf Contest in Oceanside

Mission Avenue and Pacific Street, Oceanside, 92054

For the past six years, the Supergirl Jam Series has been the only large-scale all-girls action sports competition and lifestyle series. Developed as a celebration of female empowerment, the Supergirl Jam features the top female athletes in surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding competing at three events.

In 2012, the Supergirl Jam is expanding with the launch of the Paul Mitchell Supergirl Pro, the ONLY 6-Star Women’s Tour Surf Contest in North America. It will feature the largest field of professional surfing talent of any event in the world with more than 80 top pros competing.

There are three days of surfing heats that lead to head-to-head competition between the world’s best female surfers. The event is an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 6-Star event so it offers valuable points for surfers to qualify into the Women’s Championship Tour in 2013.

The event is free to attend and no ticket is required

Day 1: Thursday, Aug 9, 8:00a – 4:00p

- Round 1 (4 Heats @ 20 Min; 1.33 hours)
- Round 2 (6 Heats @ 20 Min; 2 hours)
- Round 3 (6 Heats @ 20 Min; 2 hours)
- Round 4 (6 Heats @ 25 Min; 2.5 hours)

Day 2: Friday, Aug 10, 10:30a – 3:30 PM

- Round 4 (6 Heats @ 25 Min; 2.5 hours)
- Round 5 (6 Heats @ 25 Minutes; 2.5 Hours)

Day 3: Saturday, Aug 11, 11:00a – 4:00p

- Round 6 (4 Heats @ 25 Minutes; 1.66 Hours)
- Quarter-Finals (4 Heats @ 25 Minutes; 1.66 Hours)
- Semi-Finals (2 Heats @ 25 Minutes; .83 Hours)
- Final (1 Heat @ 30 Minutes; .5 Hours)

The event features a minimum of eleven (11) hours of television coverage in the US:

* 6 hours of coverage on Fox Sports Net
* 5 hours of coverage on Fuel TV

There will be a live stream hosted at several sites TBA

The event features eighty (80) of the top professional female surfers in the world, including 13 of the top 16 ranked pros. It is the largest field of talent of any female surfing event in the world.

Following is a partial list of the top pros that have registered to compete in this international field of talent, including ASP World Tour stars Tyler Wright (New South Wales, AU), Laura Enever (Sydney, Australia), Carissa Moore (Honolulu, HI), Courtney Conlogue (Santa Ana, CA), Malia Manuel (Kauai, HI), Coco Ho (Oahu, HI), Rebecca Woods (New South Wales, AU), Paige Hareb (New Plymouth, NZ), Sofia Mulanovich (Lima, Peru), Pauline Ado (Bayonne, France), Justine Dupont (Lacanau, France) and Sage Erickson (Malibu, CA) as well as other favorites such as Alana Blanchard, Bruna Schmitz and Erica Hosseini.

There will autograph signings and numerous chances for surf fans to meet their favorite pros throughout the weekend.

This is the 1st year of the Paul Mitchell Supergirl Pro and the 6th year of the Supergirl Jam Series.
