Mexican Independence Day Festival

Commemorate Mexico’s independence from Spain in 1810. Join local dignitaries including host Governor José María de Echeandía inside Casa de Estudillo for the play Bells of Dona Josepha. (Portrayed by actor Victor Contreras, Governor Echeandía was twice governor of Alta California). Hors d'oeuvres, refreshments served.
Fiesta Patrias promises free activities for visitors of all ages including contests, relay races, paper-flower making, piñatas, cornhusk-doll making. Afterward, dance to early California music in Casa de Estudillo museum (0-$10). 619-220-5422.
