Kids (6-12) invited to take series of workshops on animals, enjoy other fun activities. Get up close with exotic and strange insects, meet birds from around world, "scaly and slithery friends," the "smallest pocket pets" such as hamsters and guinea pig, rabbits. Meet a veterinarian. Make a craft to take home, take shelter tour. Fee: $8 for one workshop; $6 each for two workshops; $5 each for three or more. Registration: 760-888-2261.
