Film tells true story of Lazo, a Mexican-American student in East Los Angeles with many Japanese American friends who were forced to relocate to internment camps during World War II. Eventually Lazo slipped aboard a train, wound up at Manzanar Relocation Camp, graduated from Manzanar High School, and was then drafted.
