San Elijo Lagoon Nature Center hosts grand opening festivities with guided nature walks every half hour and children's story time, treasure hunt, more. Building is a "green" facility made from recycled materials, using solar panels, irrigated roof plants, and recycled water, with array of interactive exhibits exploring the natural and cultural history of the San Elijo Lagoon. Free parking and shuttles at MiraCosta College, 3333 Manchester Avenue (starting at 10 a.m.). 760-436-3944.
