It's theme for 2009 Encinitas Holiday Parade, beginning with tree lighting ceremony in Lumberyard shopping center courtyard (5pm). Parade steps off at 5:30pm, heading south along Coast Highway 101 from D Street to J Street. Parade entries judged in categories including "most environmentally beautiful," "most unusual use of recycled material," "best use of alternative energy," others. 760-633-2740.
