“She was our third baby in less than three years,” explains Mom Becky. “We had a hard time figuring out her due date. We thought she would be born at the end of January, beginning of February. She waited until the very end of February.”
Dad Thanos, a psychiatrist at Villaview Community Hospital at University and 54th, was on call. “He left his patients to take me to the hospital in Chula Vista around 10:30 that morning. They told me she wouldn’t be born until late that night.”
When Athena decided to arrive a little after noon, Mom paged Dad again.
“I started pushing. My husband walked through the door. The baby came out.”
