Extant since the late 1990s and fronted by Jeff Freedman, the Yucks were founded by drummer Bill Yuck. Bassist Rowland Bluntz - a vet of Resevior Tips, Ramblin' Outlaws, FuckLordz, Noise God, Tore Back, and Hungover Tomorrow (also known as Punk Floyd) - is a former woodworker at Deering Banjo Company who also served as karaoke host at El Cajon's Blarney Stone Pub, and his LSD (Local San Diego) Productions used to book events at the Spring Valley bar Fannie's (later known as the Bancroft).
Their five-song EP Full Of It was released in 2019. A new Yucks album was recorded in 2021 at Bluntz's home-based BluntCave Studios with a band lineup featuring him, Freedman, "Mad Dog" Matt Murphy on guitar, and founding drummer Bill Yuck. World's Gone Blind, features cover artwork by Shannon Roscoe.
"This will be the second release from the Yucks with this new super tight lineup, recording some new material along with a few unreleased and unrecorded oldies," said Bluntz. "We had planned on going to DoubleTime Studios last year, but Covid hit and put those plans off so we started recording everything ourselves."
