The Ultimate Stones includes several members of Rolling the Stones, a Rolling Stones tribute band who won the 2009 Ultimate Music Challenge at Viejas Casino. Original bandleader Mick Adams (aka Mick Jagged) performed with Vince Lupo (as Charlie Swatts) and Bernie Yantz (Bill Why-man), and up to a total of nine performers recreating the Stones' music.
Says the band, “We present the very best in performance and stage production values: the great Jagger and Richards songs that we all know and love, done completely live, without any sweetener tracks or audio trickery.”
In 2013, the band appeared on a new cable show called the World’s Greatest Tribute Bands, on AXS TV. Mark Cuban, a billionaire, started AXS in 2012 with concert promoter/arena owner AEG, radio deejay Ryan Seacrest, and the Hollywood talent firm Creative Artists Agency. A local booking agency that specializes in tribute acts called Music Zirconia brokered the deal that got the Ultimate Stones on the AXS TV producer’s radar.
As of 2015, the band included Jim Becker, Rick Harchol, Ray Weston, Bernie Yantz, Terry Myers, Bob Campbell, Albert Margolis, and Julz Harris.
