Massachusetts native turned (as of 2014) Ocean Beach resident Tim Norton (The Moves Collective) is a songwriter, composer, and guitarist who has been covered in Relix, San Diego Troubadour, NBC’s SoundDiego, and was an NPR Tiny Desk's honorable mention. He was also briefly involved in the television series Portlandia.
Norton earned several San Diego Music Award nominations, winning Best Americana Act in 2017. After signing with Ever Upward Entertainment out of Colorado, he spent the next two years averaging over 100 performances a year on the road.
When the Moves Collective went on a hiatus beginning 2020, Norton worked with Pink Talking Fish, Marcus Rezak, Joe Marcinek Band, and Grateful Bluegrass Boys, as well as Hot Buttered Rum. A debut solo single called "Fairy Tale" dropped in February 2020. He followed up with three more singles and a Live Vol. 1 EP which features local guest musicians. The EP was nominated for a 2020 San Diego Music Award as Best Local Recording.
