Tanae features Andy Gallagher (Trains Across the Sea), a Columbus, Ohio transplant since 2017, and singer Thana Fayad, who arrived in San Diego in 2016 to attend the University of San Diego on a volleyball scholarship. After the two met in December of 2018, they began writing songs together.
Their debut single was released in early 2020, "Into the Woods," featuring Paul Tillery on bass, Jonathan Sebat on drums, and Jon Larson on keys. A followup single was released in March, "I'll Be True."
