Born in Detroit, Ronald Lee Rush was a soul singer and label owner who eventually called San Diego home. "He reminds me a little of Ervin Groves," says music historian Andy Rasmussen, "as he was a singer, songwriter and headed up a few local soul labels from the late 60s thru the 80s. He sang and produced everything from soul, disco, funk to hip-hop." Rush produced records for his own Aidco/Aidqueen labels, as well as singing on several of those records. Among the groups he was associated with are The Brothers Of Aquarius, Rush & Gross, Pierre, and The Aidqueen Movement.
The album Baby by Ron Rush & The Aidqueen Movement dropped in 1983 via his Aidqueen Records label. Among his singles is "Cloudy For Me" b/w "Cold Cold Man," released on his Aidco label.
Rush passed away in December 2023.
