Originally known as We Are Going To Be Awesome, Quor was formed in 2011 by Brian Corn and Doug Smith (Rio). The name changed to Quor after Corn saw a giant liquor store sign glowing in the distance while driving down the PCH on a foggy night. “The L and I were out and the sign read quor,” says Corn. “The name Quor pokes at the current state of rock labeling everything into ‘core’ genre's (hardcore, mathcore, metalcore, etc etc.), and we also avoided the trends in band naming that make every band sound the same.”
Their first EP We Are Going To Be Awesome was released in 2013. They toured the U.S. in 2014, and then embarked on acoustic tours in Europe and Japan. Their album Human Paradigm was released in September 2015.
A video for their song “Let’s Rise” hit number one for multiple weeks in Autumn 2015 on Loudwire's Battle Royale, competing against videos by bands like Slayer and Queensryche.
By summer 2021, the band had around 936,000 total streams on Spotify. They released a motion video for the track "Paradise," off their album Human Paradigm. Around the same time, they saw their song "Fly Little Bird" covered by Spokane Washington group Snacks at Midnight.
Autumn 2022 saw the release of a new video for "Twiddle in the Middle."
