Death metal trio Putrescine is fronted by Marie McAuliffe and features guitarists Trevor Van Hook and Zachary Sanders. They made their recorded debut with a pair of 2020 EPs, Devourer of Gods and Reek of Putrescine.
In March 2021, they released their debut full-length The Fading Flame, with all music and lyrics by Van Hook and McAuliffe. The album was produced by Zachary Sanders and mixed by Shawn McClure. Guest players include Calin Kim playing viola on "In a Setting Sun," and Alec Van Der Lam contributes some solo licks to "In a Setting Sun."
