My Mynd is a solo project featuring guitarist Nick Costa of Sure Fire Soul Ensemble, winner Best Blues Album at the 2015 SDMAs and Best Recording at the 2017 SDMAs. While studying Business Management Economics and Music at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Costa was featured guitarist in the University of California, Santa Cruz jazz ensembles, going on to play with the Mighty 388s, Bill Caballero's Latin Jazz Ensemble, In Mirrors, and Organically Good Trio featuring members of Slightly Stoopid. He has also been involved in the San Diego Actors Theatre company, performing music for plays like Fiancée in a Box and Mastor Harold, and has worked as a guitar soloist for their Salon Series.
Costa, who also sometimes teaches music at Mesa College's Continuing Education Department, released his debut singles as My Mynd in early 2018, “In My Mynd” and “Back Pocket,” both including drummer Jake Najor.
Several new singles were released in early 2021.
