Christian metal band A Midday Atlantic was founded by guitarist Ryan Lunde and singer Miguel Ramirez, who were friends at a church both attended. Ramirez was previously in the metal/hardcore band Edge of Mortality (1996-2001).
It was at the church where the duo met brothers Tom Hetzler (bass) and Ryan Hetzler (drums), though the siblings left the band in 2006 and were replaced by Cameron Austgen and Kevin Weiss.
