May Stands Still were originally known as the Emily Herndon Band. Tom Atkins, a drummer working with Wesley Cole Switzer for several years, happened upon Emily singing on the beach with her guitar. Tom and Wesley wasted no time in getting Emily into the studio. Asha Sukumar, a friend of Wesley's from Berklee College of Music was added to the mix.
