Soprano Mary Ann Carr has appeared as soloist with the San Diego Master Chorale and San Diego Symphony. She won first place in the 2004 San Diego NATS Competition, and was a Musical Merit finalist in 2004 and 2005. In 2002, she performed in Chiari, Italy, with the International Institute of Vocal Arts, where she studied with William Woodruff.
In local stage productions, she has played roles such as Mme. Herze in The Impressario, Carolina in The Secret Marriage, and Eliza in David Conte's oratorio The Dreamers. In 2001, Ms. Carr premiered the title role in Teresa Benedicta for SDSU's Opera Theatre, a series of one-act operas written by student and faculty composers.
Ms. Carr directs a Gregorian chant schola and polyphonic choir at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Little Italy. With her husband, classical guitarist William Wilson, she formed Duo Ceciliana, which specializes in chamber performances.
