While Martin Coughlin was getting a social science degree at Cal State San Marcos in the 1990s, he and his younger brothers Paul and Gerald and another British expatriate launched the Poway-based group Square Go, an original band that opened for acts like Roger Cline, the Gin Blossoms, and Dave Wakeling.
After Square Go split, Coughlin took a job teaching history at Westview High School in Rancho Peñasquitos. He began making music again around 2011, releasing two solo albums between then and 2015.
