Drummer/composer Marco Minnemann came up in Germany, where he began playing organ at the age of six, and then switched to drums and guitar at the same time at the age of eleven. As an adult, he played with jazz and prog fusion bands like Freaky Fukin Weirdoz (1992-98), with whom he recorded four albums, H-Blockx (1998-1999), Steven "Porcupine Tree" Wilson's band (2011-present), and Joe Satriani (2013-present). He has also drummed for the Aristocrats, Illegal Aliens, and his recording project the Mute Gods features Nick Beggs (Kajagoogoo, Steven Wilson Band).
His debut solo album The Green Mindbomb was released in 1998 and followed by over a dozen others, as well as collaborations like the 2005 album Disarmed with Mario Brinkmann and Fabio Trentini and 2013's Levin Minnemann Rudess with bassist Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel, Stick Men) and Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess.
Minnemann also performed with John Wetton and Eddie Jobson for a 2012 UK concert reunion, has toured with metal band Necrophagist, and has released several instructional books and video tutorials.
