Lefty Martin Shrode started singing when he was in elementary school. He remembers coming home from school and his Mom would be playing classic country, B.B. King, The Ink Spots, even "Wipeout" by the Surfaris. "I remember my Mom sounding just like Patsy Cline, she sang a mean 'Crazy.' It is the support and love of family and friends that drive me to sing."
Shrode performed with Rhapsody Singers & Sounds Divine in 2008, going on to a local country cover band called the Silver Spurs. The manager from the Rhapsody Singers, Barbara Patterson, introduced him to Ted Matzen, Lead Guitarist of the Ghostriders who he has played with since 2017.
During the Covid pandemic, Shrode was part of a startup project as the lead singer for the Urban Outlaws. Two years later, in 2022, he founded Lefty Martin & His Right Hand Band.
2024 saw the release of a new single, "Who's Gonna Teach Him."
