Laws of Motion were an early 1980s new wave band fronted by Scott Himelstein, a 1980 University of San Diego graduate. As of 2010, he was heading up an activist collective of philanthropists, parents, and business leaders called San Diegans 4 Great Schools.
A Laws of Motion song called "Massive Doses" appeared on 91X's Local Heroes compilation. Their EP Check It In the Mirror/Living In Real Time was released in Autumn 1984 via World Records. They split the following year. Matthew T. Pray (DFX2) went on to play with Barefoot Hockey Goalie and Burning Bridges.
