Karla Holland-Moritz has been a San Diego Symphony cellist since 1981. She has a Masters Degree in Music Performance from Yale, where she studied with Aldo Parisot.
As of 2010, Holland-Moritz teaches adult cello students of all levels, including beginners. Her students perform in a cello ensemble with her, and have played for audiences at United Cerebral Palsy, St. Paul’s Manor, St. Paul’s Villa, and St. Paul’s Senior Homes’ PACE program.
She is also Co-Director, along with San Diego Symphony cellist Glen Campbell, of Strings by the Sea, a Suzuki music camp held annually at Point Loma Nazarene University. In addition, she plays her cello as a patient care volunteer for San Diego Hospice, as well as performing at St. Paul’s Cathedral, where she is a member.
