Jens Rossen first earned local notice as a member of the three-piece avant-electro group Man the Submersible.
After the Danish born musician moved to San Diego in 2001, he began producing and playing bass with various local ensembles. In 2002, under the name Chart Cropper, he produced, arranged, and played on the In Case of Fire Sessions. This album had a limited pressing (100 copies), though it was finally re-released digitally on iTunes in 2011. The Sessions involved musicians from local bands like Creedle, Robert Walter’s 20th Congress, and Daddy Long Legs.
Rossen is also a member of the duo Poor Digital Man, alongside Argentinian musician Luis Soraire. Poor Digital Man’s 2010 release Forget Time transcends what most people have associated with electronic music.
His self-titled debut solo album was released in May 2011, on the San Diego-based label Sounds Out Music (founded in 2010).
