Heavy on the 7 was formed in 2014 by members of the local 1980s new wave group NE1, who reunited that year for a Casbah performance. The band features Timothy Cien, Manny Cien, Ed Croft, Barry Brown, and Patrick Armenta. Their debut performance was in January 2015 at the Spacebar in La Mesa.
