The Grossmont Master Chorale (GMC) is one of three vocal ensembles in the music department at Grossmont College. The chorale performs throughout the Greater San Diego area in a variety of musical venues in addition to being a frequent performer with the Grossmont Symphony Orchestra.
Numbering between 50 to 60 singers, the Chorale’s membership includes music and non-music majors, dedicated community singers and music teachers. Regular performing venues include concert music series such as the Organ Pavilion at Balboa Park and Point Loma Nazarene University, while notable church concert series include events at First Presbyterian Church of San Diego, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and Santa Sophia Catholic Church.
In addition to performing a variety of classical chorale literature, the GMC performs a number of run-out concerts featuring choral literature from Opera, Operetta, Musical Theater, and Gilbert and Sullivan.
As of 2010, Dr. Randall Tweed is the choral and orchestral director.
