Griever is a hardcore four-piece punk band with an initial lineup featuring singer/guitarist Alex Jacobelli and drummer Cory Groenenberg (whose previous band Lewd Acts broke up in 2010), alongside Orlando Ramirez (guitar) and Wes Sisk (bass, vocals). "I really enjoy playing with bands that are our homies, and also with touring bands that we would normally go watch anyhow," says Jacobelli.
After releasing their debut EP Inferior, Groenenberg suffered a motorcycle accident in late September 2013, breaking his toe and keeping him off his kit for several weeks.
Their 2015 album Our Love is Different was recorded by Tommy Garcia and Alex Jacobelli at SDRL and Thrill Me Studios, mixed by Alex Jacobelli at Thrill Me, and mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance.
The cover art is a fantasy painting by Kelsey Parker. "We just wanted something simple and bold that will relate to what we sound like," says Jacobelli. "We are all pretty big Hobbit and Lord of the Rings fans, and we wanted the colors of our album art to pay homage to that."
