Gabriella Cihomsky — who turned 14 in December 2007 — is a singer-songwriter who began writing songs at age 7. The pianist is managed by her father, John Cihomsky. She made her live debut in 2007 at Lestat’s, while she was still a student at San Elijo Middle School. In January 2008, she was one of five winners in the Carlsbad Recreation Department’s "Battle of the Bands." One of her recordings was chosen to be KPRI’s Homegrown Hour "Pick of the Week."
Under her stage name "Gabriella," her CD Sweet was released in 2007. The album was recorded in L.A. with Rob Hoffman and Heather Holly of Elicit Productions, a songwriting/production team known for working with Janet Jackson, Sheryl Crow, Christina Aguilera, and others. She writes about personal subjects like the time her family was in a car accident caused by a teenaged driver and about her battle with Type-1 diabetes.
