Skate punk band Furious IV was fronted from the start by Ian Flannon Taylor, known from the influential early 1990s punk rock band Unsound, from Palm Springs/Palm Desert, alongside bassist Jim Garza and a fluid roster of guitarists. Taylor moved to San Diego in 1994, and a debut Furious IV full-length, What’s Become Of The Baby?, was released in 1997, followed by several tours and demo recording sessions, including one with Eric Melvin (NOFX). After a sophomore album recorded with new drummer Andy Karr, ...Is That You?, the band split in the early 2000s, though members reconvened in various new configurations from time to time.
In 2007, Ian Flannon Taylor took up the guitar with Nick Oliveri's Mondo Generator, whith whom he played through 2014 when he joined California punkers the Adolescents.
The band reunited for the first time in around seven years for an April 30, 2016 performance at the Casbah. A new album was released on July 1 of that year. Drummer Didier Suarez went on to play with surf rockers Alvino & the Dwells.
