The Front Porch Pandemic Jazz Band was started by sax player Greg Pardue (Forecast), Jack Hoffman (piano, drums), and Roy Jenkins (bass) in April 2020, at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, playing outdoors weekly in University City.
In 2021, they were voted "Reader Best Local Band" and were finalists for "Best Cover Band" and "Best Neighborhood Event." The band has also included Phil Marcus (guitar, vocals), Ray Conseur (drums, percussion), Jim Napier (trumpet, flugelhorn), Chris Penny (piano), and Mark Phelps (bass).
