Ella Ruth Piggee was a blues singer from Des Moines Iowa who moved to San Diego in the late 1970s. Her San Diego years included collaborations with Mitch Manker (who came from the same part of Iowa), Cecil McBee Jr., Bruce Cameron, Hollis Gentry III, Carl Evans Jr., and Fattburger, with whom she sang “Make That Dream Come True” on their Good News album.
Piggee passed away in 1988 from colon cancer.
