DJ JFX relocated from the Chicago area to San Diego in 1989 and started out spinning in the local club-circuit as well as writing for several publications. Beginning when he was hired as resident DJ at San Diego’s Kansas City SteakHouse nightclub, he went on to work at various nightclubs throughout California.
JFX also DJ’d for the reggae singers Half Pint & “Sister Nancy and has served as the official DJ for reggae artist Shinehead. In 1997, DJ JFX along with DJ Truly OdD (Heavyweights Record Pool) and JRocc (World Famous Beat Junkies), produced the remix of “Diggy Diggy” for reggae star Mr. Vegas.
In 2003, DJ JFX produced the hip-hop track “No Love” (released on 12-inch via StrongHouse Records) featuring San Diego’s Mr. Brady, of the hip-hop group Deep Rooted.
His early 2014 track “She Scream” features Rampage (of Busta Rhymes' Flipmode Squad), Phoenix rapper Hoood, and Andrew Reid, son of reggae legend Junior Reid, produced by JFX, Felony Music, and Jungle Josh.
