Based near SDSU, Cosmodrome 66 features the Worm and Fiftymoons, creating what they describe as a hybrid of drone-pop and stoner rock.
"The emphasis os on a hypnotic part of the instrumentation that varies little throughout the songs," according to the band. "Drums feature a solid meter and a straight-ahead beat, while the bass percolates, creating a propulsive effect beneath the overdriven guitar. We wanted to accentuate certain
parts of percussion for different songs. The ride cymbal or the hi-hats may be more pronounced, treated in mixing, and featuring the groove element of that particular piece of music."
The band released When Lightning Rips the Sky in 2014.
