Chimpos was a 1980s rock band based in Ocean Beach and featuring vets of Point Loma High School. Members have included bassist Jason Scheff (Chicago), bassist Thomas Yearsley (the Paladins), and singer Laura Jane Willcock (the Tighten Ups). Lyricist and songwriter Greg Hildebrand operates Cow Records in OB.
The band reunited in 2019 and released an album called Flung Like A Horse, recorded at Yearsley’s Thunderbird Analog Recording Studio.
