Bassist-singer Nik Ewing played with Lesands, Longstay, Cardboard Truckers, the Howls, and Three Chamber Heart, as well as being a touring member of Local Natives from 2012-2013, a stint that led to joining the band.
Ewing launched a solo covers album in early 2019 under the name Chewing, covering the music of Dennis Wilson's 1977 Pacific Ocean Blue album. Guests include members of Local Natives, the Gloomies, and Cults.
