Archie Thompson is a piano-and-sax-playing jazz and R&B singer based in San Carlos. His band the Archtones play around town and elsewhere, featuring bassist Jason Littlefield, who also plays with Tommy Price and the Stilettos, the David Patrone Quartet, and Hot Rod Lincoln.
According to their press bio, "In the spirit of the great Ray Charles, this soulful trio plays a danceable mixture of classic jazz, authentic blues, and old-school R&B. Inspired performances, and clever arrangements breathe new life into the all-time favorites, while Archie's originals are winning over audiences night after night."
Beginning in 2011, the Archtones began playing a Jazz Vespers show each week at First Presbyterian Church downtown, where San Diego Symphony conductor Jahja Ling is also a member. Some of the performances with guest musicians were recorded in early 2015 for a planned series of albums.
Thompson signed on with a publisher (Eddie Caldwell) and landed his music on programs such as Snowfall, Claws, and Imposters. A chance meeting even lead to Archie producing and performing the theme songs for the past three seasons of one of his favorite shows, Archer, and his song "Green Door" was heard in Once Upon a Time In Hollywood
