Pianist Andrew Vu was still in grade school when he began performing, and was already quite accomplished when he began attending Carmel Valley Middle School. He was introduced to piano at a very young age and studied with Viktor Shekhtman, a graduate of Odessa State Conservatory. His achievements include first place awards at the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC) Carmel Valley Branch competitions and the San Diego Music Bee competition. He also received a scholarship from the MTAC Carmel Valley Branch and was invited to attend the private master class with Vlada Vassilieva from Duo Petrof.
Vu performs on piano at school events, libraries, nursing homes, and also accompanying a choir at St. Therese of Carmel Church.
