Aaron Poehler used to be in a Bloomington, Indiana band called Daisy Glaze, before moving to San Diego in 2004. His debut full-length This is My Revenge was followed by You Had to Leave Your Mark in November 2011. Recorded by Mark Haemmerle at Haemmerle Productions, it includes Paul Szewcyzk on bass and Ryan Tully-Doyle playing the drums, alongside Poehler on guitar and vocals.
Poehler and Tully-Doyle collaborated again for the early 2014 release Dietrich, featuring eleven songs and running thirty-six minutes, produced by Poehler, mixed by Rob Allsopp and Larry Crane, and mastered by Tardon Feathered.
