The American Federation of Musicians (AFM) local 325 has released a statement regarding their negotiations with Orchestra Nova (formerly San Diego Chamber Orchestra).
The statement iterates that after nine hours of meetings today, no agreement has been reached and no further meetings have been scheduled. Orchestra Nova management has made it clear that they want to terminate 44% of the musicians currently under contract.
There is an agreement in place for the musicians to play the October 2012 concerts.
What happens after October is anyone’s guess right now.
Hopefully both sides of the negotiations will be able to clearly express their positions as the story progresses.
