Liquid Geometry Label Debut: Mastah Syphe Bullrider EP

For the past year-and-a-half, forward-thinking electronic music collective Liquid Geometry has been playing a huge role in cultivating San Diego’s beat scene with a monthly showcase at the Kava Lounge curating local and out-of-town luminaries including Free the Robots, Freddy Todd, Eprom, Teebs, Take, Lorn, Dr. Strangeloop, and Samiyam.

Tomorrow, Liquid Geometry celebrates its first label release with Mastah Syphe’s Bullrider EP, featuring 4 original tracks and remixes by Bleep Bloop, Sleeve↓, Subp Yao, and Elusive.

If YouTube traffic on the promo video is any reliable indicator, Bullrider looks to be a welcomed development, logging over 1,500 views within the first 24 hours of being posted.

Syphe was recently featured on an international compilation (which he mastered in its entirety) released earlier this month by Portland-based label and artist collective, STYLSS.

Mastah Syphe’s track Cheese Cake was also featured on yesterday’s Weekly Dose of Bass on music blog Live for the Funk.

"With launching this label, its great to be integrating a creative aspect into the Liquid Geometry brand," says Saif 'Mastah Syphe' Bari. "We are going to format our monthly at the Kava with a corresponding release from an artist each month."

In the coming months, Liquid G anticipates selections from Subp Yao, Nino Seneris, Lazloh, Sleeve↓, and our beloved brother HM.T DM.T.

All releases will be name-your-own-price.

Any artists interested in having material released on Liquid Geometry are encouraged to send demos to [email protected] or [email protected].

London grimey bass producer Silkie will headline Saturday's show to be opened by local nasties DJ Pound (Saturate! Records/Critical Beatdown), Puppy Kicker (Rogue Dubs), and Sleeve↓ (Liquid Geometry).

Liquid Geometry promoter Corey Howard writes:

“With everything being so crazy for us recently, the up’s and down’s of 2012, along with all of our hard work finally coming together to create some amazing opportunities to bring Liquid Geometry’s vision upwards and outwards, we thought it was important to secure someone really special to help us celebrate the EP release of Mastah Syphe, one of our residents and rising stars.

“Silkie is a master of fusing subtlety with power, ambient sounds with aggressive bass, nostalgia with the future. His music is definitely something you need to experience if you are looking to get away from the same old thing you are used to. The fact that he is all the way from the UK and it’s his first appearance in San Diego only reinforces my point - Mastah Syphe’s EP release this Saturday is a unique opportunity for San Diego heads and community alike, and is NOT something to be missed! Come ready for a sweaty dance party! (Change of clothes recommended but not required.)”
